Even the rain couldn’t keep people away. Thousands gathered at the Farmington Polo Club for the Hometown Foundation’s annual Dream Ride Experience, including several people supported by Aspire Living & Learning who were invited to take part as Dream Riders.

For them, the day started on the road.

Each Dream Rider was paired with a driver and a classic or exotic car for a 17-mile, police-escorted cruise through the Farmington Valley. When they returned, a red-carpet entrance welcomed them back to the Farmington Polo Club, where hundreds of supercars, classics, exotics and motorcycles filled the grounds.

“These are the coolest cars ever,” Sean said as he took it all in.

For Troy, the experience included riding in one of his dream cars, a Lamborghini. His parent shared afterward that “Troy had a blast and was blessed to ride in a dream car of his.”

The group from Aspire was among more than 520 Dream Riders who participated this year, with parents and Aspire team members joining them for a weekend that also included live entertainment, events and bands throughout the grounds.

“This is a great day with all the cars, events, and the bands,” Aaron said. “We have to come back next year.”

Dream Ride began 25 years ago with just 12 motorcycle riders raising money to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, it has grown into the Hometown Foundation’s signature annual fundraiser, drawing thousands to Farmington and raising $8 million this year alone.

The funds raised through Dream Ride help the Hometown Foundation continue its work supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other communities across the country.

For Tim, the day was one he won’t soon forget. “This is one of the best days of my life,” he said.
