In a previous edition of Aspire Community News, we introduced the Talent Acquisition Team. This month we’d like to introduce another part of the People Team, the Shared Services Team. Like the Talent Acquisition Team, Shared Services was created last year and handles all benefits, administration and record keeping for all Aspire employees. The team is led by Joy Driscoll, Director of Shared Services and includes Sherry Charland-Gallant and Linda Carrier.
With 31 years of service, Sherry is one of 12 Aspire employees who have been with the agency for 30 years or more. In November 2020, she joined the Shared Services team as Senior Benefits Partner after many years as a Strategic HR Partner in the Massachusetts operation. In this role, she supports Aspire employees with all their benefit questions related to medical, dental, short-term disability and Family Medical Leave. Sherry also coordinates all kinds of other processes including workers compensation, unemployment benefits and more. Sherry lives in Massachusetts with her husband, Tim, and nephews Mitch and Jackson.
Linda joined Aspire Living & Learning 10 years ago as a member of the Vermont accounts payable team. In March 2020, Linda joined the People Team as Shared Services Coordinator. In her role, Linda is responsible for maintaining all the record keeping in our Employee Portal. This includes, processing all new hires and making sure they have everything they need to get started, updating our records when status changes occur and ensuring that all important documentation makes its way to our employee files. Linda has resided in Vermont most of her life and has two grown sons, Tyler and Cameron. Tyler, a marine biologist, is currently living in Germany and Cameron works and resides closer to home in Vermont.
Joy joined the Aspire Human Resources team in October 2018 and was promoted to Director of Shared Services last year. Prior to joining Aspire, she worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, in both HR and IT roles, and has 12 years of extensive experience with various HR systems including UltiPro. Joy’s knowledge and her tireless efforts and expertise were instrumental in Aspire’s transformation into a unified agency. Joy is responsible for creating and implementing the Employee Portal that we all use for information sharing, reporting and record keeping. Joy lives in her native state of Vermont with her husband, Arnold. They have 3 daughters and 11 (yes that says 11!) grandchildren.
