Hello Aspire Community,

The summer started in such a hopeful way. Programs opened up throughout the spring. We all returned to more of our normal routines. We had a moment to take a breath and enjoy the pleasures of summer fun and each other’s company.

With the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant, our hopes for a quicker end of this pandemic have dimmed. Cases and hospitalizations are rising in every state. The speed at which Delta can spread means our situation is volatile. Our priority is to protect you and to protect the people we support. That’s why masking, distancing, and screening requirements have been reinstated.

Thank you for carrying out these procedures. Your hard-won expertise in protecting yourself and others is essential to keeping everyone safe.

Vaccination is now available to everyone over the age of 12. At this time, about 60 percent of our workforce is vaccinated. Our community will be safest when we get to 100 percent, and that is our goal. Many organizations are starting to implement vaccine mandates. As we plan for the future, we want to better understand your thoughts about vaccination.

If you haven’t made the choice for vaccination, we will be asking you personally if we can talk about your perspective and concerns. We’ve heard that some people are looking for the latest scientific information about vaccines. Others have told us they don’t know how to get a shot at a time and place that works for them and their families. Some are worried about time off to get the shot and recover from any side effects. You may have other concerns. We are here to listen and to help.

You’re probably tired of COVID. I know I am. We have so many other initiatives that need our attention. I know that together we can continue navigating these unpredictable waters. I’m incredibly grateful for your dedication to our mission.
